Biography

I've been making films since the age of fifteen and getting paid to make them since the age of seventeen. My first commission was to record an outdoor theatre performance at a local museum and as far as I can remember the pay was £100. Not much now, and not much then either but I was up and running.
I made several short films during my time at university before finding work at the Angus Digital Media Centre. I also taught Media Studies for a period at Angus College before going freelance in 2005. Since then I've worked for many charities, youth groups and other organisations covering issues such as homelessness, environmental activism and volunteering. Today, I co-curate the Village of the Damned short horror film festival and am developing a post-apocalyptic web series called 'Silence'. My work is influenced by the lives of ordinary people and in particular stories of power, freedom and people's relationship to authority.
